Three Arrested After July 4 Shooting in Macon; Multiple Firearms Recovered

MACON, GA — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Gang Unit and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, has arrested three individuals in connection with an aggravated assault investigation stemming from a July 4, 2025, shooting on Sparkle Avenue.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. on July 10, deputies conducted a traffic stop at Fairfax Drive and Bloomfield Road and encountered 18-year-old Dontavis Anquan Jackson of Macon and 24-year-old Michael Winston Burney of Gray. Both were wanted in connection to the shooting.
Jackson and an unidentified male passenger fled on foot but were apprehended after a short pursuit. Burney was taken into custody without incident. Authorities recovered multiple firearms from the vehicle, two of which were reported stolen.
Jackson was charged with five counts of Aggravated Assault and was already wanted for Armed Robbery by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. He is being held without bond.
Burney was also charged with five counts of Aggravated Assault and is being held without bond.
The third individual, identified as 17-year-old Terrace Quantae Austin of Macon, was determined not to be a suspect in the July 4 shooting. However, Austin faces charges including:
- Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property
- Possession of a Dangerous Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana
Austin is also being held without bond.
All three individuals were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. The investigation is ongoing.
