Juvenile Charged Following Aggravated Assault with Firearm in Savannah

The Savannah Police Department has arrested a male juvenile in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. The suspect was taken into custody on the evening of Thursday, October 9.
At approximately 9:40 a.m. on October 8, officers responded to the 4000 block of Clinch Street following reports that a male juvenile had been struck with the handle of a pistol. Witnesses stated that the suspect had pointed a firearm at the victim, struck him, and ordered him to remove articles of clothing. Video of the incident was later shared on social media.
The suspect was initially brought to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office by his mother on the evening of October 8, but he invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and was released due to insufficient evidence and the absence of an arrest warrant.
Additional evidence gathered the following day allowed investigators to secure an arrest warrant. The juvenile was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person under 18, and false imprisonment.
Savannah Police Chief Lenny B. Gunther praised the investigation, stating, “I’m grateful for the hard work of our investigators. Their efforts ensured a swift, thorough, and lawful arrest in this case.”
