Richmond County Deputies Searching for Missing Inmate Who Fled Work Detail
AUGUSTA, GA – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate who failed to return to the Augusta Transitional Center after leaving his assigned work site.
On September 4, 2025, at approximately 7:54 p.m., deputies responded to 601 Taylor Street after being notified that inmate Stacy Huggins did not return from work detail. Authorities say Huggins reported to his assigned work site at 4337 Wilson Road in Hephzibah but left the location on foot during the day and never came back.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, working in coordination with the Georgia Department of Corrections, is actively searching for Huggins, who was last seen in the Hephzibah area.
