Six Arrested in Brunswick for Illegal Gambling Payouts at COAM Locations

On May 1, 2025, detectives with the Glynn County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Lottery Corporation, executed an arrest warrant operation targeting illegal gambling activities involving Coin Operated Amusement Machines (COAMs) in Brunswick.

The multi-agency operation was part of an ongoing investigation into businesses accused of illegally providing cash payouts for winnings on COAMs, a violation of Georgia law, which prohibits monetary exchange for COAM credits.

Multiple individuals were arrested, interviewed by GBI agents, and later booked into the Glynn County Detention Center. The Georgia Lottery Corporation issued administrative citations to the businesses involved, and the COAMs at those locations were shut down.
