Man Accused in Purse Snatching and Armed Carjacking Arrested After Chase in Albany

A 32-year-old man has been arrested following two separate incidents in Albany involving robbery and carjacking.

According to the Albany Police Department, the first incident occurred on April 26, 2025, at around 5:30 p.m., when a woman walking in the 1900 block of Dawson Road was approached by an unknown male who asked for directions and began walking with her. When they reached the 2100 block, the man grabbed her purse and fled across the street toward Lake Loretta.

With assistance from the Sylvester Police Department, investigators identified the suspect as Recardo Rodrigez Moore, 32.

On April 30, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a second incident occurred when a woman was sitting inside her vehicle. Police say Moore approached the vehicle, entered it while armed with a firearm, and demanded the vehicle. The victim complied, and Moore fled in the stolen vehicle.

Deputies with the Worth County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and attempted to stop it. After a brief vehicle and foot pursuit, Moore was taken into custody.

Moore was booked into the Dougherty County Jail on outstanding charges from Worth County. He now faces additional charges in Albany, including Robbery by Sudden Snatching, Motor Vehicle Hijacking, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes. Authorities say further charges may be filed.

Neither of the victims was physically injured during the incidents.
