Franklin County Man Arrested for Sexual Exploitation of Children

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged Joshua Buckley, 32, of Martin, in Franklin County, Georgia, with Sexual Exploitation of Children.

The GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit initiated an investigation into Buckley’s online activities in December 2024, following a referral from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. The referral indicated Buckley’s potential online possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

The investigation led to a search warrant being executed at Buckley’s home. As a result of the search, Buckley was arrested and charged with 11 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Trafficking and Child Exploitation Unit, the GBI Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, and the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Athens provided assistance during the execution of the search warrant and Buckley’s arrest.

Buckley, who was a registered sex offender, has been booked into the Franklin County Jail.
