Florida Sex Offender Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges After Traffic Stop in Crisp County

A Florida man, Christopher Coulters Hinson, 57, was arrested on February 27, 2025, after a traffic stop on I-75 near Mile Marker 103.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., a Crisp County deputy initiated the traffic stop on a 2019 Black Yukon. Hinson informed the deputy that his Florida driver’s license was suspended. A records check confirmed the suspension, which had been in effect since July 2024, and revealed that Hinson is a registered sex offender in Florida.
Hinson was placed in handcuffs, and the vehicle was prepared for towing. During an inventory search, deputies discovered:
- A handgun with no recorded serial number.
- Six unspent shell casings.
- A container with a yellow/gold substance suspected to be dried THC oil (Dabs).
Hinson was transported to the Crisp County Detention Center and charged with:
- Driving While License Suspended Or Revoked
- Possession Of A Schedule 1 Controlled Substance
- Possession Of A Firearm During A Crime
- Receipt, Possession, Or Transfer Of A Firearm By A Convicted Felon
