Three Arrested for Street Racing and Impeding Traffic in Atlanta

Three men were arrested on February 23, 2025, for street racing and impeding traffic after a police response to a large gathering of street racers.
Around 10 p.m., Atlanta Police Department (APD) officers responded to a report of street racing at 50 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd. Upon arrival, most of the vehicles had left, but APD commanders observed vehicles blocking traffic at the intersection while “laying drag” to facilitate the escape of other racers.
With assistance from the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), APD commanders stopped three vehicles that were blocking the intersection and directed them back to the parking lot.
The three drivers, identified as Agbaw-Ebai, Markus Patterson, and Dwayne Young, were arrested without incident. Their vehicles’ tires showed evidence of “laying drag.”
Arrested and charged:
- Agbaw-Ebai: Impeding the Flow of Traffic, Racing on Highways and/or Streets, and Operating an Unregistered Vehicle.
- Markus Patterson: Impeding the Flow of Traffic, Racing on Highways and/or Streets.
- Dwayne Young: Impeding the Flow of Traffic, Racing on Highways and/or Streets.
All three were transported to the Atlanta City Detention Center, and their vehicles were impounded.
