Man Arrested After Standoff at Lofts at Riverwalk in Columbus, Various Weapons Found

On Friday, January 31, 2025, Columbus Police officers responded to a barricade situation at the Lofts at Riverwalk on 1st Avenue. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Michael D’Astoli, had barricaded himself in a unit. After several hours of negotiation, D’Astoli was taken into custody without incident.

He faces charges of Aggravated Stalking, Harassing Communications, and Terroristic Threats. Following his arrest, a search of his residence yielded several weapons, ammunition, a taser, and electronic devices.

The operation saw coordinated efforts from the Columbus Police Department’s SWAT, Special Operations, Patrol Units, Fort Moore’s CID, and Military Police to ensure the safety of all parties involved.
