Macon Caregiver Accused of Burglarizing Elderly Clients’ Home While They Were Hospitalized

MACON, Ga. — A Macon caregiver has been arrested and charged after investigators say she burglarized the home of the elderly couple she was hired to care for while both were hospitalized.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, 47-year-old Crissy Kimberly Watts was taken into custody on June 11, 2026, following an investigation into a burglary at a residence on High Point Road.

Investigators allege Watts used her access code to enter the home while the husband and wife were away receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

According to arrest warrants, surveillance footage captured Watts and an unidentified accomplice entering the residence and stealing approximately $10,000 worth of property.

The stolen items reportedly included vintage jewelry and prescription medication.

Authorities said the investigation determined Watts was employed as a caregiver for the victims at the time of the alleged burglary.

Watts has been charged with First-Degree Burglary and Exploitation of or Deprivation of Essential Services to a Disabled Person, Elder Person, or Resident.

She was booked into custody and later received a bond totaling $44,000.

The identity of the alleged accomplice has not been released, and investigators continue working to identify and locate that individual.
