Three Gang Members Sentenced to Life for Murder in Peachtree Corners Violent 2022 Carjacking

On Tuesday, three gang members were convicted of murder for the July 2022 shooting death of Bradley Lamar Coleman, 30, during a violent carjacking attempt in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
Josiah Hughley, Jr. (22), David Jarrad Booker (23), and Miles Collins (22) were each found guilty on multiple charges, including two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, hijacking a motor vehicle, and violations under Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
The trio was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 145 years consecutively.
On July 10, 2022, Coleman was at a Quik Trip station, pumping air into his tire, when the gang members, driving a rented Mercedes-Benz, approached. They attempted to steal Coleman’s Dodge Charger to bolster their gang status. When Hughley tried to drive off in the Charger but struck another vehicle, Coleman confronted him. Hughley responded by shooting Coleman in the head.
Surveillance footage from the convenience store showed Booker approaching Coleman’s car with a weapon drawn while Hughley fired. After the shooting, Hughley stole Coleman’s handgun, and the three fled the scene.
Investigators were able to track the suspects through their cell phones, and evidence revealed that Hughley had sold the stolen firearm.
Gwinnett District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson expressed hope that the conviction would bring justice and solace to Coleman’s family, stating, “Gang activity and the violence it invites has no place in the lives of our young people.”
The case was prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney John Melvin and Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney John Williams, with significant assistance from Gwinnett County Police Department’s gang unit.
