Worker Dies After Being Struck by Forklift at Perry Construction Site
On December 3, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Perry Police and Fire Departments responded to a construction accident near the entrance of Woodlands Blvd and Highway 127.
Upon arrival, first responders found that a worker had been accidentally struck by a commercial forklift. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, suffered serious injuries. Medical aid was administered at the scene before EMS transported the individual to Houston Medical Center, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
The Perry Police Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have launched a joint investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time,” said Perry Police Chief Alan Everidge in a statement.
