Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputies Charge 12-Year-Old with Terroristic Threats Following 9-1-1 Call
On September 17, 2024, deputies with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office detained a 12-year-old male and charged him with Terrorist Threats and Acts and Misuse of 9-1-1 after he called emergency services and made threats of school violence.
This incident marks the fourth student in the Crisp County School system charged with Terrorist Threats and Acts in September. Although officials stated that none of the threats were credible, they emphasized that such actions drained local, state, and federal resources.
Sheriff Billy Hancock addressed the seriousness of the situation, stating, “This is a costly issue for Crisp County. Protecting our youth isn’t just the responsibility of the schools or law enforcement—parents, you must do your part, and you will be held accountable for your child’s actions. We will continue to take all threats to our community’s safety seriously and investigate every one of them thoroughly. Whether it’s a ‘joke,’ a social media stunt, or something else, we will respond with zero tolerance.”
