Man Arrested After Shooting at Royston Pizza Hut, Victim Flown to Hospital

On September 20, 2024, at approximately 1:27 p.m., Officers Hunsinger and Crunkleton of the Royston Police Department responded to a shots fired call at the Pizza Hut located at 200 Franklin Springs Circle. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men outside the establishment. One man had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, while the second man, identified as Brandon Holland, surrendered to police without incident.

Officers secured a 9mm handgun and rendered aid to the victim until Franklin County EMS arrived. The victim was transported by EMS and later flown via Life Flight to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, where he was last reported to be in stable condition.

Holland is currently in custody, facing charges of two counts of aggravated assault, pointing a firearm at another, and discharging a firearm within city limits. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Royston Police Department at 706-215-8106.
