Newton County Deputies Arrest 12-Year-Old for Making Threats Against Florida School

On September 16, 2024, Newton County deputies arrested a 12-year-old male student from Indian Creek Middle School for making electronic threats against a school in Florida. The juvenile has been charged with making terroristic threats and acts and has been referred to the Juvenile Court System.

Sheriff Ezell Brown has stated that any threats or acts of violence will be taken seriously and that those responsible will be held accountable. He urged students and parents to understand that threats directed at the Newton County School System, or any school system, will be treated with the utmost seriousness.
