Albany Shooting: Teen Suspect Apprehended After Social Media Alert

A shooting incident took place on May 19th, 2024, in the 600 block of W Residence Ave in Albany. Albany Police responded to the scene where they discovered a female victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Authorities identified 18-year-old Brandon Johnson as a person of interest who may have been involved in an altercation with individuals at the victim’s residence. Albany Police issued a public alert on social media, warning that Johnson was considered armed and dangerous.

Following an investigation, Brandon Johnson was apprehended on May 20th and placed under arrest. He was subsequently transported to Dougherty County Jail on a charge of Murder.
