A special ceremony unfolded yesterday as the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia unveiled its newest addition, the Minix K9 Facility. Named in memory of Investigator Eric Anthony Minix, who lost his life earlier this year while on duty, the facility stands as a testament to his service and sacrifice.

Approved by the Coweta County Board of Commissioners, the Minix K9 Facility, located on Selt Rd., will serve as the primary hub for Coweta County K9 Training. Additionally, it will open its doors to K9 units from other agencies, offering a space for comprehensive training sessions.

The ceremony saw notable figures such as First Lady of the State of Georgia, Marty Kemp, Sheriff Lenn Wood, and Board Chairman John Reidelbach addressing the attendees that gathered for the ribbon cutting and sign unveiling.
