Former Milner Police Officer Arrested for Theft and Violation of Oath of Office

Jerald Frank Rafferzeder, aged 57 and hailing from Forsyth, Georgia, was arrested and charged by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) on April 15, 2024. The charges include Theft by Taking and Violation of Oath of Office.

The arrest follows an investigation initiated by the Milner Police Department on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. The department sought assistance from the GBI concerning a theft case involving a missing LIDAR system, which belonged to the Milner Police Department.

Preliminary findings in the investigation indicated that Rafferzeder, during his tenure as a police officer at the Milner Police Department, allegedly stole the LIDAR system along with another similar device. Subsequently, he purportedly sold the stolen items for a sum of $800.

Following his arrest, Rafferzeder was booked into the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.
