Albany Police Respond to Altercation, Arrest Three Suspects on Leonard Avenue

On April 11, 2024, at around 2:10 pm, the Criminal Investigative Bureau rushed to a residence on the 2400 block of Leonard Avenue following reports of a brawl. Upon arrival, several suspects attempted to flee on foot.

One of the suspects, identified as Devonte Charnard Lane (27), was apprehended after a brief chase. Lane was found to be involved in a physical altercation with Tianna Adricia Baker (23). Another suspect, Malquon Jamel Grier (24), attempted to escape on foot, discarding drugs in the process, but was eventually caught.

The Albany-Dougherty Special Investigative Unit joined the scene to execute a search warrant.

Lane faces charges of Obstruction, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Amphetamine, and Possession of Drug-related Objects. Additionally, he was wanted for an outstanding probation violation warrant.

Baker, who had active Failure to Appear warrants, was also taken into custody.

Grier was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Amphetamine, and Possession of Drug-related Objects.

All suspects were transported to the Dougherty County Jail.
