Suspect Arrested After Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement Officers
A suspect has been arrested by Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies in connection with an aggravated assault on law enforcement officers. The incident unfolded on Riverside Drive following a report received at 7:24 a.m. via the Emergency-911 Center, indicating a suspicious vehicle backed into a driveway within the 2200 block of Old Holton Road.
Upon arrival, deputies found a silver Kia Forte. However, when they attempted to approach the vehicle, the driver quickly fled the scene, prompting a brief pursuit. During the chase, the suspect deliberately rammed three patrol vehicles. Nevertheless, deputies managed to detain the suspect on Riverside Drive, though one deputy sustained minor injuries during the incident.
The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Jonathon Michael Shadwick. Shadwick was taken to a medical facility for treatment of minor injuries before being transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Shadwick faces a range of charges including probation violation, driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain lane, felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers, and three counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer.
