Mother Arrested for Allowing Child to Ingest THC, Child Hospitalized

On March 31, 2024, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Monarch Dr in Albany following reports of an unresponsive child. The child was swiftly transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The following day, on April 1, 2024, investigators took action by arresting Na’Quon Hunt, aged 23 and identified as the child’s mother. Through the investigative process, it was revealed that Hunt had allowed the child to ingest a substance containing THC. A laboratory test conducted at the hospital confirmed the presence of THC in the child’s system.

Hunt has been charged with Reckless Conduct and has been remanded to the custody of Dougherty County Jail.
