Successful Debut: Atrium Health Amphitheater Rocks Macon-Bibb with Inaugural Show

On Sunday, March 24, 2024, over 6,500 people gathered at the new Atrium Health Amphitheater in Macon-Bibb for its inaugural show. Black Stone Cherry, ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd electrified the crowd, marking the beginning of what promises to be a vibrant musical journey at the venue.

Mayor Lester Miller expressed delight at the turnout, stating, “What an amazing night in Macon-Bibb to kick off a first year of great shows here at the amphitheater.” He noted the skeptics who doubted the success of the project but emphasized that the enthusiastic crowd proved them wrong, setting the stage for a new era of musical experiences in the region.

Trent Merritt, OVG360 Senior Vice President, praised the venue’s potential, affirming, “This is going to be the best venue for live music in the Southeast.” He commended the staff for their efforts, ensuring the smooth operation of the event.

Despite being the inaugural show, reports indicated seamless organization, with nearly 2,000 attendees entering the gates within 30 minutes of opening and the venue and parking lot cleared within 35 minutes after the show ended. Food and beverage service also ran efficiently, earning appreciation from Trent Merritt and Mayor Miller.

Mayor Miller expressed gratitude to the staff for their dedication, stating, “This amphitheater means so much to me because it’s going to return hope to this area and to this county.” The event received overwhelming praise from attendees, evident from the smiles, high fives, and positive social media posts, affirming the Atrium Health Amphitheater’s successful debut.
