Murder Suspect Extradited to Richmond County After Standoff in North Augusta

A suspect facing a murder charge after being arrested in North Augusta, South Carolina, has been extradited to Richmond County.

Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of North Augusta Public Safety and US Marshal’s Task Force, located 21-year-old Caleb Jamar White on the 1300 block of Plaza Place, North Augusta, SC on February 27, 2024, at 6:24 p.m.

After a brief standoff, White was taken into custody and transported to the Aiken County Detention Center.

White will be charged with murder and theft by receiving stolen property. North Augusta Department of Public Safety reported they were called to Plaza Place Apartments around 5:30 p.m. to assist the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals. Negotiators managed to talk White and a female inside the apartment into coming out after an hour on the scene.

White is charged with the murder of 31-year-old Demon Parrish, last seen in Augusta on January 8, 2024. Parrish was reported missing on January 10th.
