Three Charged With Theft in Glennville Housing Authority Probe

GLENNVILLE, Georgia – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested three people Monday in a theft investigation at the Glennville Housing Authority. Agents charged 54-year-old Leslie Renae Clinton of Hazlehurst, 51-year-old Michael Lynn Jinks of Glennville and 54-year-old Stephanie Lashae Thomas of Glennville.

Clinton and Thomas face charges of theft by conversion. Jinks is charged with theft by deception, the GBI said.

The Glennville Police Department asked the GBI on February 3 to investigate allegations that someone misappropriated funds from the housing authority. The three suspects were arrested Monday, November 2, and booked into the Tattnall County Jail.

The Housing and Urban Development Office of Inspector General assisted the GBI with the investigation.

The GBI described the case as active and ongoing. The charges are accusations, and the three have not been found guilty of anything in court.

What happens next

When the investigation wraps up, the GBI will give the case file to the Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
