Shooting at Albany Gas Station Leaves Two Injured, Suspects in Custody
On April 9, 2024, around 2:35 pm, Albany Police officers responded to a shooting incident at 230 E. Oglethorpe Blvd. (Corner College Gas Station). Upon arrival, they found two males suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The injured individuals were identified as 22-year-old Brian McCray and 20-year-old Quency Carr. Both were transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
32-year-old Raymond Jerrod Sutton Jr. was apprehended at the scene and charged with Tampering with Evidence. He was taken to the Dougherty County Jail. Additionally, a 16-year-old has been charged with Aggravated Assault and will be transferred to a youth detention center after receiving treatment at the hospital.
Authorities have also identified 18-year-old Jacobie Mency as a person of interest in the case.
