Cobb County Detectives Seek Additional Victims in Serial Rape Investigation
COBB COUNTY, Georgia – Detectives with the Cobb County Police Department are asking for the public’s help identifying potential additional victims connected to an ongoing serial rape investigation.
The suspect in the case is 22-year-old Jahmel Palmer. He is described as 5’5″ tall and 160 lbs.
According to police, investigators with the department’s Major Crimes Unit developed information indicating there may be unidentified victims who have not yet come forward. Detectives believe some incidents may date back to 2022 and could involve victims in both Georgia and Ohio.
Authorities said some victims may be members of the Hispanic community and acknowledged that individuals may feel hesitant or afraid to contact law enforcement for various reasons.
“The Cobb County Police Department wants to make one thing clear: our priority is protecting victims, providing support, and holding offenders accountable,” the department said in a statement.
Investigators believe additional victims may exist and are encouraging anyone who believes they may have had contact with the individual under investigation, or who believes they may have been victimized, to contact police.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Department Major Crimes Unit at 770-499-3945.
