Woman Arrested After Meth Found in Rabun County Traffic Stop
RABUN COUNTY, Ga. — A traffic stop on U.S. 441 led to the discovery of a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and the arrest of a local woman, according to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies conducted the stop May 4 and reported observing indicators of possible criminal activity. A K9 unit performed a free-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted, prompting a search.
During the search, deputies located approximately one pound of suspected methamphetamine concealed under the vehicle’s spare tire.
Billie Jo Jamison, 53, of Rabun Gap, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rabun County Detention Center.
She is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute within a designated drug-free zone.
“I am proud of the work our deputies continue to do to identify and remove illegal narcotics from our community,” said Mark Gerrells.
