Albany Man Arrested After Argument Turns Deadly

ALBANY, Ga. — A suspect is in custody following a fatal shooting late Thursday night, according to the Albany Police Department.

Officers responded around 10:45 p.m. May 7 to the 600 block of Bobbitt Drive, where they found 45-year-old Courtney Tanorris Jenkins deceased at the scene.

Police said the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Cornell Winder, remained at the location and was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from a disagreement between Jenkins and Winder.

Winder has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes. He was transported to the Dougherty County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
