Meth Found Hidden in Vehicle Doors at Covington Auto Parts Yard
COVINGTON, Ga. — Deputies are investigating after a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine was discovered hidden inside a junk vehicle at a local auto parts yard, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 4:30 p.m. May 5 to McDonough Used Auto Parts in the 4800 block of GA-162 after staff reported finding suspicious material concealed inside a vehicle door.
Investigators said approximately $15,000 to $20,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine was located hidden inside two doors of a junk vehicle on the property.
Authorities have not announced any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Sheriff Ezell Brown thanked the business for quickly reporting the discovery and assisting law enforcement.
