Two Arrested After $130K Worth of Grave Markers Stolen from Atlanta Cemetery
ATLANTA, Ga. — Two individuals have been arrested following an investigation into the theft of cemetery property valued at more than $130,000 from an Atlanta memorial park.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, investigators with the department’s Larceny Unit began investigating on August 14, 2025, after multiple bronze vases, bronze plaques, and granite slabs were reported stolen from Crest Lawn Memorial Park, located at 2000 Marietta Boulevard NW.
Investigators determined the thefts occurred between August 4 and August 12, 2025, with the total estimated loss exceeding $130,000.
On August 23, 2025, detectives executed a search warrant on a vehicle believed to be connected to the crimes. During the search, investigators recovered ten large grave markers, five bronze vases, and one small plaque believed to have been stolen from the cemetery. Officers also located several grinding wheels allegedly used to alter the metal items in an attempt to prevent identification.
Following the investigation, suspects were identified as 40-year-old Allison Pena and 43-year-old Emanuel Pena. Both are from Smyrna, GA.
Both individuals were arrested and charged with Felony Theft by Taking. They were booked into the Fulton County Jail.
