Gunfire Damages Homes, Vehicles During Large Gathering in Troup County
LAGRANGE, Ga. – Authorities are investigating after dozens of gunshots were fired during a large gathering early Sunday morning in Troup County, damaging multiple homes, vehicles, and mailboxes.
According to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 12:33 a.m. on Aug. 9 to the 100 block of Woodstream Trail following multiple reports of gunfire and possible shooting victims.
While deputies were responding, Troup County 911 continued receiving calls from residents reporting additional gunshots and several vehicles leaving the area.
No Injuries Reported
When deputies arrived, they determined that no one had been struck by gunfire.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to process the scene.
During the investigation, detectives recovered numerous shell casings from the roadway and discovered that several homes, vehicles, and mailboxes had been damaged by gunfire.
Investigation Continues
Preliminary findings indicate a large gathering was taking place at a residence on Woodstream Trail when, at some point, unknown individuals began firing guns outside the home.
Investigators have not announced any arrests or identified any suspects.
