Conyers AutoZone Employee Charged After Accidental Shooting Injures Coworker

CONYERS, Ga. – A Conyers AutoZone employee has been charged after authorities say a firearm was accidentally discharged inside the store, injuring a coworker.

According to the Conyers Police Department, officers responded to the AutoZone on the south side of the city following a report of a person being shot inside the business.

Investigators determined the victim was an employee who was accidentally shot by another employee who was manipulating a firearm inside the store.

The injured employee was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have not released the victim’s condition.

The employee responsible for the discharge has been charged with Reckless Conduct.

Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public, though a significant law enforcement presence remained at the business while investigators processed the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.
