Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office Reminds Residents of Summer Juvenile Curfew
ROCKDALE COUNTY, Georgia – As summer approaches, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents that the county’s juvenile curfew ordinance remains in effect for children ages 16 and younger.
Under Juvenile Curfew Ordinance O-2024-10, minors are prohibited from being out during the following hours:
- Weekdays: 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Weekends: 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
The ordinance includes several exceptions.
Minors are permitted to be out during curfew hours if they are accompanied by a parent, guardian, or another person who has lawful custody or care of the child.
The curfew also does not apply to juveniles traveling directly home from school activities, religious events, movies, sporting events, plays, or other public entertainment functions, provided they arrive home within 30 minutes after the event concludes.
Additionally, minors conducting emergency errands for a parent, guardian, or lawful custodian are exempt from the restrictions.
The sheriff’s office said deputies will continue enforcing the ordinance throughout the summer and warned that violations may result in citations and fines.
Residents seeking additional information about the curfew ordinance can visit the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office website.
