Unidentified Woman Found Dead Along Atlanta Highway in Athens-Clarke County

CLARKE COUNTY, GA – Athens-Clarke County police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman found deceased last month along Atlanta Highway.

On January 27, 2026, officers discovered the body of an unidentified female in the 3100 block of Atlanta Highway. Investigators believe her death may have been the result of exposure to cold weather.

The woman did not have identification when she was found. She has brown hair and brown eyes and appears to be between 40 and 50 years old. Authorities said she is approximately 5 feet tall and weighs about 119 pounds. She was wearing specific clothing at the time she was discovered.
