Two Suspects Arrested After Stolen Car Pursuit Ends With Crash, Foot Chase in Bibb County

MACON, Ga. – Two men wanted in connection with an armed robbery and carjacking in Warner Robins were arrested after a high-speed pursuit that began when a Bibb County deputy spotted their stolen car traveling 92 mph, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The pursuit started on Rocky Creek Road when Cpl. John Kile spotted a stolen Nissan Altima with an Alabama license plate. The vehicle had been linked to the Warner Robins case.
Kile attempted a traffic stop, but the driver kept going.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Nissan was driven recklessly at excessive speeds, ran traffic signals and at times was used in an attempt to strike pursuing patrol vehicles.
The chase eventually drew officers from several jurisdictions as the Peach County Sheriff’s Office and police departments in Byron and Warner Robins joined Bibb County deputies.
It ended after the Nissan entered an interstate exit ramp traveling in the wrong direction and crashed down a steep embankment.
The two men got out and ran into a wooded area, authorities said.
Deputies ultimately captured both suspects. The Sheriff’s Office identified them only as men from Buena Vista and Warner Robins and did not release their names in the information provided.
Both were turned over to the Warner Robins Police Department to face charges stemming from the armed robbery and carjacking investigation.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the men will also face additional charges related to the pursuit. Authorities did not specify those charges or provide information about injuries resulting from the crash.
