Savannah Man Arrested in Connection with Targeted Fatal Shooting on Benton Blvd

SAVANNAH – Alfonso Warner, 40, has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in the 1400 block of Benton Blvd on Nov. 29, Savannah Police report.

According to authorities, officers were called at around 5 a.m. after a woman reported she was driving a man to the hospital following a gunshot wound. First responders met them en route and took over care, but the victim ultimately died from his injuries.

Investigators determined the shooting was not random and appeared to be the result of a prearranged meeting.

With assistance from the U.S. Marshals and Richmond Hill Police Department, Warner was taken into custody on Dec. 4 without incident. He has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.
