Albany Man Arrested for Fatal Shooting After Argument on Catalina Lane

Albany, Georgia – Albany Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025, in the 1200 block of Catalina Lane. Officers responded just after 10:30 a.m. and found 39-year-old Terrance Mathis dead on the back patio of a home with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to investigators, the shooting followed an argument between Mathis and 24-year-old Johnny Martin. Police say Martin opened fire during the dispute, killing Mathis at the scene.

Martin has been charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During Certain Crimes, and Tampering with Evidence. Another man, Isaiah Leroy, 24, was also arrested and charged with Tampering with Evidence in connection with the case.

Both suspects were booked into the Dougherty County Jail.
