Albany Police Arrest Teen in July Homicide; Two Others Charged

On September 24, 2025, Albany Police officers arrested 17-year-old Dy’kerrius Patterson in connection with a homicide that occurred in July on the 1400 block of 11th Avenue. Patterson, who was 16 at the time of the incident, was located and taken into custody without incident after officers received a tip from an anonymous source.

Two additional arrests were made in the case. Deoyonshay Patterson, 34, and Tayheisha Ford, 36, were both charged with Hindering the Apprehension of a Criminal.

The original incident took place around 4:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025. According to Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler, the victim was 18-year-old Christian Jones, who died after being shot on 11th Avenue.

The Albany Police Department says it remains committed to pursuing justice for Jones and his family.
