Missouri Man Arrested After Early Morning Shooting in Glynn County

A Missouri man is behind bars after a Sunday morning shooting in Country Club Estates.

Around 2:32 a.m. on September 14, Glynn County Police officers responded to reports of a shooting on Baybridge Drive. While investigating, officers were notified that a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound had arrived at Southeast Georgia Health System–Brunswick Campus.

Witnesses told police the shooting happened at a residence on Baybridge Drive following an altercation between two co-workers from out of state. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old James Rhodes of Missouri, fled the scene before officers arrived.

Detectives and crime scene personnel executed a search warrant at the residence, recovering two firearms and spent shell casings. Rhodes was later found at a local restaurant and taken into custody. Investigators say he was carrying shell casings that matched those found at the crime scene.

Rhodes was booked into the Glynn County Detention Center and charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Reckless Conduct
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes
  • Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon
  • Tampering with Evidence
