Paulding County Man Sentenced to 8 Years for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender
Defendant: Marion Frank Campbell

PAULDING COUNTY, GA – A Paulding County man, Marion Frank Campbell, 66, has been found guilty of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender and sentenced to 30 years, with eight years to be served in prison. The verdict was reached on August 12, 2025.

According to a press release from District Attorney Robert S. Lane, the charges stemmed from a Paulding County Sheriff’s Office investigation that began on January 1, 2024. Campbell was required to register with the state’s sex offender registry since his release from the Department of Corrections in 2015, following a qualifying sex crime conviction in 1995.

Upon his release from the Georgia Department of Corrections, Campbell will be on probation and will remain subject to the sex offender registry and other felony conviction restrictions.

“The goal of the sex offender registry is to protect the community and its members from sexual predators,” said District Attorney Robert S. Lane. “For the registry to work and help protect those it’s intended to protect, offenders must comply with the law. When they fail to comply, my office will hold them accountable.”

The case was investigated by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Deidra Alexander.
