Macon Police Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run After 30-Year-Old Man Found in Roadway

MACON, Ga. – A 30-year-old man was found dead on Forsyth Road early Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle whose driver left the scene without reporting the collision, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was identified as 30-year-old Clint Lee Parrish Jr.

The Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center received a call at approximately 5:54 a.m. reporting a person down in the roadway in the 6200 block of Forsyth Road near Ashton Hall.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded and found Parrish unresponsive in the roadway.

Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley responded to the scene and pronounced Parrish dead. Coroner Leon Jones said Parrish’s next of kin has been notified.

Driver Left Scene Without Reporting Crash

Investigators determined that a vehicle had struck Parrish, but the driver left the scene without reporting the collision.

Authorities have not released a description of the vehicle or identified a possible driver. The sheriff’s office also has not disclosed what evidence investigators recovered at the scene or the circumstances that led to Parrish being in the roadway.

The case remains under investigation, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
