Man Faces Numerous Charges After Altercation, Drug Seizure at Brunswick Bar

BRUNSWICK, GA – A Brunswick man is facing multiple felony charges, including drug trafficking, following an incident that began with a disturbance at Side Pokkets Bar and escalated into a foot pursuit and physical altercation with Glynn County Police officers. The event occurred shortly after midnight on July 21, 2025.

At approximately 12:21 A.M., officers responded to the bar, located at 360 Mall Boulevard, after a report of a male threatening to retrieve a firearm and harm an employee. Upon arrival, staff identified the individual as 29-year-old Kenneth Jackson and requested his removal for criminal trespassing.

During attempts to arrest Jackson, he allegedly obstructed officers by resisting, fleeing on foot, and physically fighting with them. Jackson sustained minor injuries during the struggle, and EMS was called to provide treatment. While being treated by EMS, Jackson reportedly attempted to kick a paramedic.

A search of Jackson’s person, conducted incident to his arrest, led to the discovery of a large quantity of substances that field-tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine, along with a digital scale.

Detectives subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant for the vehicle Jackson had arrived in. This search uncovered additional quantities of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, as well as packaging materials and another digital scale, indicative of narcotics distribution.

In total, Jackson was found to be in possession of:

  • Methamphetamine: 13.8 grams
  • Cocaine (total): 23.84 grams
  • MDMA: 39.2 grams
  • Fentanyl: 52.30 grams

Officers were unable to substantiate the initial allegations of Jackson making threats involving a firearm, and no firearm was located during the investigation.

Jackson has been charged with:

  • Trafficking in Schedule I Substance (MDMA)
  • Trafficking in Schedule II Substance (Fentanyl)
  • Possession of Schedule II Substance (Methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Schedule II Substance (Cocaine)
  • Possession of Drug-Related Objects
  • Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer
  • Obstruction of an Emergency Medical Technician
