Stephens County Deputies Arrest Woman After Crack Cocaine and Fentanyl Found in SUV

STEPHENS COUNTY, GA — A 53-year-old woman was arrested early Wednesday morning, July 16, 2025, after deputies with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office discovered a large quantity of illegal narcotics during a traffic stop on Brookhaven Circle.
At approximately 4:13 a.m., Stephens County 911 received a call reporting suspicious activity near Jenkins Ferry Road and Brookhaven Circle in Martin. The caller told deputies that a female had driven into their yard claiming she was being chased by police.
Shortly after, deputies spotted a blue Honda CR-V swerving across lanes on Brookhaven Circle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Georgie Dennis, came to a sudden stop in the roadway. Deputies said Dennis appeared impaired and observed what looked like a homemade smoking device with residue inside the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the SUV revealed approximately 15.77 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 1.6 grams of suspected fentanyl, six suspected oxycodone pills, seven grams of suspected marijuana, packaging materials, and $6,257 in cash.
Dennis, who recently moved to Stephens County, was arrested and booked into the Stephens County Jail. She faces multiple charges, including:
- Three counts of Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute
- Three counts of Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Possession of Marijuana (less than one ounce)
- Possession of Drug-Related Objects
- Driving Under the Influence of Drugs
- Failure to Maintain Lane
She remains in custody pending a bond hearing.
Sheriff Rusty Fulbright commended the deputies for their thorough response. “As a result, they removed an impaired driver off the street and did their part to help curb the flow of drug trafficking in Stephens County,” he said.
