Man Shot in Hand and Groin After Argument Outside Covington Apartment Complex

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, at approximately 9:32 p.m., Covington Police responded to reports of a shooting at Welling Ridge Apartments, located at 10919 Wellington Drive, near Building 9.

Officers arrived to find a 28-year-old male inside a relative’s apartment suffering from gunshot wounds to the hand and groin. Preliminary investigation suggests the man was involved in a verbal altercation near his vehicle when the shooting occurred. The suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot.

The victim was airlifted to Grady Medical Center for treatment. The investigation remains ongoing.
