Albany Police Seek Man for Battery, Suspected of Strangling Child’s Mother

The Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Willie Colbert, 30, who is wanted for Battery following a domestic incident on May 30, 2025. Colbert already has nine prior outstanding warrants.

Colbert’s last known address is the 900 block of Corn Ave., Albany, Georgia 31701. He is described as 5’10” tall and weighing 205 lbs.

According to a brief synopsis provided by police, Colbert went to his child’s mother’s home around midnight on May 30 to retrieve belongings. After failing to find a specific item, he reportedly became upset and argued with her, ultimately grabbing her by the neck and causing visible injuries.
