Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Self-Stabbing at Monroe Home Depot

The Monroe Police Department responded to a reported stabbing incident in the parking lot of Home Depot at 2150 West Spring Street on Friday, February 14, 2025, at approximately 1:43 PM.
Upon arrival, officers found a man bleeding from self-inflicted wounds and experiencing a mental episode. The individual was identified as 42-year-old Eric Perez-Mejia of Social Circle.
Emergency medical personnel transported Perez-Mejia to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities confirmed that the scene was cleared, and there is no threat to the public.
