Young Driver Fatally Ejected in I-75 Crash Near Mercer University Drive

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred shortly after 02:30 a.m. on December 17, 2023, along I-75 Southbound near the on-ramp from Mercer University Drive.

According to reports, 25-year-old Tyree Harris of Macon was driving a Toyota Camry south on I-75, approaching the on-ramp from Mercer University, when the vehicle lost control and collided with the guardrail. The impact resulted in Harris being ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Deputy Coroner Miley.
