Anonymous Tip Leads to Major Methamphetamine Distribution Arrests in Cartersville
CARTERSVILLE, Georgia – An anonymous tip led to a drug investigation that resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the disruption of an alleged methamphetamine distribution operation in Cartersville, according to the Cartersville Police Department.
Investigators began looking into suspected drug activity at a residence located at 709 North Tennessee Street after receiving information from an anonymous source.
During the investigation, detectives determined that the resident, 56-year-old Scott Allen Walsh, was allegedly distributing methamphetamine from the residence.
According to police, investigators gathered evidence indicating Walsh was distributing more than three to four ounces of methamphetamine per week.
Authorities noted that Walsh has an extensive criminal history involving felony drug convictions at both the state and federal levels.
As a result of the investigation, officers arrested Walsh and three additional suspects.

The Cartersville Police Department credited the Georgia Department of Community Supervision for assisting with the investigation.
Officials said the arrests were the result of a swift investigation that began with information provided by a concerned citizen.
The investigation remains ongoing.
