Major Drug Bust in Leesburg, Stolen Property Recovered Linked to Mitchell County Thefts

LEE COUNTY, Georgia – A joint investigation between the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office resulted in multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen property following the execution of a search warrant in Leesburg.

On January 28, 2026, deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, Narcotics Investigation Division, Special Victims Unit, and Uniform Patrol Division assisted Mitchell County investigators in serving a search warrant at a residence located at 443 Jordan Road. The warrant stemmed from an ongoing investigation into multiple thefts reported in Mitchell County, with investigators believing stolen property was being stored at the Leesburg location.

During the morning operation, deputies located several individuals inside the residence who were found to have active and outstanding arrest warrants, including suspects tied to the Mitchell County theft cases.

The following individuals were arrested:

  • Taylor Blake Brookerd
    • Possession of Methamphetamine
    • Possession of Fentanyl
    • Possession of Drug-Related Objects
    • Warrant for Larceny (Calhoun County)
    • Warrant for Probation Violation (Smithville, Georgia)
  • Jason Michael Pinner
    • Possession of Methamphetamine
    • Warrant for Failure to Appear (Tifton, Georgia)
  • Nicole Kristine Sutherland
    • Possession of Methamphetamine
    • Possession of Drug-Related Objects
    • Warrant for Receiving Stolen Property (Calhoun County)

Investigators recovered approximately 38.5 grams (1.36 ounces) of methamphetamine during the operation. Of that amount, Pinner was found with 24.6 grams, while Brookerd and Sutherland were found in possession of a combined 13.9 grams. Brookerd was also found with a small quantity of fentanyl.

In addition to narcotics, deputies recovered a significant amount of stolen equipment, including multiple Milwaukee-brand power tools, hydraulic equipment, electronic testing devices, laser equipment, and force measurement instruments. Several of the recovered items were identified as stolen property connected to the Mitchell County theft investigations.

All three suspects were transported to the Lee County Jail, where they remain in custody as the investigation continues.
