Hiram Man Sentenced to 60 Years for Child Molestation in Paulding County

DALLAS, Ga.—District Attorney Robert S. Lane announced that a Paulding County jury convicted Chadd Curtis Martin, 36, of Hiram, on six counts of Child Molestation. Martin was subsequently handed the maximum available sentence of 60 years in prison.

The jury returned guilty verdicts on all counts on October 30, 2025, following a five-day trial.

Details of the Crime and Sentence

The charges stemmed from a Paulding County Sheriff’s Office investigation launched in September 2022. The minor child disclosed that Martin committed repeated acts of molestation between March 2021 and September 2022. The victim was under the age of 16 during the offenses.

  • Trial Testimony: The victim bravely testified during the trial alongside the lead detective.
  • Sentencing: The Hon. Dean C. Bucci presided over the sentencing hearing on November 4, 2025. Martin was sentenced to 60 years, with the first 40 years to be served in the custody of the Georgia Department of Corrections and the remaining 20 years on supervision.

District Attorney Lane praised the outcome, stating: “Child molesters inflict some of the deepest and most lasting harm imaginable. This conviction and sentence make clear that those who prey on children will face the full weight of justice.”

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Deidra Alexander and John Tully.
